Iran-Central Asia-Caucasus Cultural Assembly kicks off in northern Iran

The conference's Scientific Secretary Ali-Akbar Jafari said that about 70 articles have been submitted for the event, of which 38 were complied.

According to IRNA, the objective of the assembly was to promote cultural and historical commonalities, sustainable development and bilateral trust among countries in Central Asia and the Caucasus.

Persian language and the significant role it plays in Iran's cultural-historical ties with Central Asian countries and Caucasus were among the issues discussed in the meeting.

"Islamic Republic of Iran has strong civilizational, historical, cultural and linguistic ties with Central Asian and Caucasus countries," he pointed out.

Scholars from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Nakhichevan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Georgia and Uzbekistan took part in the event.
