Iran, China Stress Strengthening Scientific Cooperation

"Iran and China have good economic and political ties and (Iranian) Ministry of Science wants to promote cooperation with Chinese universities and research centers,” Farhadi said in a meeting with Bai Chunli here in Tehran.
He also said the two countries can teach Persian and Chinese in the two countries and work on exchanging university professors and students, giving sabbatical leaves, holding scientific seminars, conducting joint projects, linking high-tech companies and science parks.
"Iranian universities are prestigious in the regional and international scenes and we are willing to expand scientific and technological cooperation with China,” he added.
Bai Chunli, for his part, stressed boosting Iran-China cooperation in scientific fields, and said, "Chinese universities, Academy of Sciences and research centers hold high potentials for scientific cooperation with Iran.”
The two sides also agreed to introduce a working group and define fields of cooperation under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
