Iran for further cultural-economic ties with Croatia

He made the remarks in separate meetings with urban and religious officials of the city of Rijeka on Thursday saying the two countries enjoy the capacity to increase their cooperation.

Soltanifar met the city's deputy mayor and imam of main mosque and said such relations are supported by the officials of both countries.

The Iranian vice president who is in Croatia to attend the 100th session of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Executive Council visited the Rijeka Islamic Center where he was received by the imam of the center's mosque.

Soltanifar is expected to meet Croatian high-ranking officials including the country's premier and parliament speaker during his three-day visit to the region.

Last month, Croatian Tourism Minister Darko Lorencin met with key Iranian tourism officials during his visit to the country.

Lorencin was in Iran to present Croatia’s tourism development strategy, and to discuss possible investment in Croatia’s tourism sector.

The 100th session of the UNWTO Executive Council kicked off on May 27 and will end on 30. This year session will include 300 participants and representatives of tourism ministries from all around the world.
