Iran to hold 44th Roshd Intl. Filmfest in Nov.

TEHRAN, Nov. 12 (MNA) – The 44th Roshd International Film Festival screening productions from 14 countries will take place in Tehran on Nov. 14-21, 2014. 

Over 1,000 works from 40 countries were submitted to the secretariat of the festival, out of which 21 were international film productions from Germany, Spain, Estonia, England, Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Russia, Switzerland, France, Canada, Guadalupe, Martinique and the Netherlands, and 980 works by Iranian filmmakers. After examining the submitted works, the jury finally decided on 209 film productions to contend at the 44th Roshd International Film Festival. The selected films will be screened concurrently at three movie theaters of Felestin Cinema, 200 institutes in Tehran, as well as 20 centers in Gilan and Makran coastal strip, north of Iran. Roshd International Film Festival is focused on the films with educational and pedagogical themes and is staged every year by the Supplying Educational Media Center, a sub-branch of the Ministry of Education of Iran. The Festival seeks the main objectives of identifying and selecting the best educational and pedagogical films in order to introduce them to the educational systems.
