Iran-Iraq Set up Joint Educational Committee

The minister first welcomed the guests and expressed his gladness for beginning of the fasting month of Ramadan. He pointed to the historical and religious background of the two countries and restated that they have many cultural interests in common. He also wished all parts of Iraq free of ISIS.

Fani announced that Iran is ready to pass valuable educational experiences to neighboring countries, particularly to Iraq.

He mentioned that there are more than 8 thousand Iraqi students studying across 13 provinces in Iran and there are many Iranian students studying at Iranian schools in Iraq. He added that exchanged students and teachers have certain difficulties in both countries that have to be worked on. He recommended setting up a joint committee to look into existing problems and find solutions.
