Iran, Italy hold cultural talks in Rome

The third round of cultural dialogue between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Italy was held in Rome.

Titled 'Religious Extremism and Solutions', the conference was held in 'Turkani Encyclopedia Foundation' and was attended by cultural figures and academicians from Iran and Italy.

Head of Iran's Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Abouzar Ebrahimi Torkaman, in an address to the attendees, discussed extremism, its origins and solutions for it.

Organized by Iran's Cultural Center in Rome, the participants at the one-day event underlined that since the phenomenon of extremism was of socio-cultural nature, therefore social and cultural solutions should be sought for it.

They further underlined that there should be more cooperation and discussions between academic centers and intellectual elites as well as more public awareness should be developed to effectively fight against the phenomenon.

Participants in this round of talks came to a joint conclusion to continue the cultural dialogue between Iran and Italy and expand it to Europe with the aim of attracting the cooperation of other countries and forming a common think tank between Muslim and European elites.
