Iran joins Asia-Pacific RoboCup committee

“Holding the 11th edition of RoboCup IranOpen competitions in Tehran, gaining valuable awards at RoboCup world championships, promoting the quality and quantity of robotic technology in Iran and the enthusiastic reception by Iranian students have been among the reasons that led to the selection of our country as a member of the executive committee of Asia-Pacific RoboCup competitions,” Morteza Musakhani, Chairman of Iran's National RoboCup Committee, said.

He further noted Russia, Japan and Australia as other members of the committee, adding “we have proposed to host 2019 Asia RoboCup competitions and given our successful record in holding several editions of international IranOpen competitions, we are expecting our proposal to be met with approval.”

Iranian RoboCup teams are currently competing for the world championship title in the RoboCup 2016 in Leipzig, Germany. The competitions kicked off on June 30 and will wrap up on Sunday.
