Iran keen on cultural exchanges with other countries: Farhadi

Talking to IRNA on the sidelines of the ceremony for unveiling two Iranian works at UNESCO's Memory of the World Program, he said that Iran's presence in UNESCO and its National Commission Secretariat in Tehran reveals the country's serious resolve for cultural cooperation with the international community.
Iran's ambassador to UNESCO attends different commissions of the organization to follow up cultural cooperation with the outside world, he said.
The minister said that registration of Iran's cultural heritage, historical monuments and audio-visual works is also on the agenda.
Farhadi hoped that global registration of Iran's cultural works with UNESCO will be increased day by day.
Currently, a large number of Iranian scientific and cultural works are lining up for inspection by UNESCO as any country can introduce only one work to the organization each year, he said.
Farhadi said that holding scientific and cultural as well as exchanging information between national libraries and cultural centers are among the other programs on
Iran's agenda.
