Iran, Pakistan stress expansion of cultural cooperation

The issues were raised in a meeting between Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and Iranian Consul General in Lahore Mohammadreza Nazeri on Friday, IRNA reported.

Speaking at the meeting, Buzdar said, “The two countries enjoy high capabilities for strengthening their cooperation in the fields of art and culture.”

He added that developing relations in these two fields can serve as a launch pad for taking bigger steps toward expanding and strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.

In addition, the two sides stressed improving bilateral relations in the fields of trade, business and economy.

Addressing the same meeting, Nazeri lauded amicable ties between Iran and Pakistan.

Describing as age-old relations between the two states, he called on the two countries to deepen cultural ties with each other.

Praising a 100-day economic plan by Punjab government, the Iranian official vowed to take more serious steps to further strengthen ties between Iran and Pakistan.

Earlier, Nazeri had met with Pakistan Muslim League-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain at his residence.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on relations between the two Islamic countries and on other regional issues.
