Iran participates in Pakistan’s National Book Fair

The four-day book festival was inaugurated by President Mamnoon Hussain in which Iran, Turkey and China are also participating.

Works from famous Iranian philosophers and poets, Persian dictionaries and books about Islamic Revolution are displayed in the book fair.

The book fair is arranged by National Book Foundation and National History and Literary Heritage (NHLH) Division of Pakistan at Pak-China Friendship Center with around 130 book stalls and a number of colourful activities.

President Mamnoon Hussain addressing on the occasion underlined the need for promoting the culture of book reading amongst the young lot in order to realize the dream of a safe and secured future.

Some diplomats and Pakistani officials also attended the book fair and showed keen interest in the works displayed in the exhibition.

On the occasion a dialogue was also held about the relationship between Persian and Urdu languages.

Renowned literary figures, book lovers, prominent writers, poets, artists, students, scholars and children are participating in the book fair.

The four-day book fair is featuring various activities like book reading sessions, seminar on important literary topics, intellectual sessions, dialogue on fiction, prose and poetry, plays, lucky book draw, readers book club stall, book reading sessions, calligraphy exhibition and many other activities for children.
