Iran produces 2 percent of the world's science and 22 percent of science in Islamic countries

Mohammad Javad Dehqani, head of the Islamic World Science Citation Center, said in an interview with Fars News Agency, that more than 2 percent of the world's science is currently being produced by Iranian researchers and universities. In fact, 22% of the total sciences in Islamic countries is produced by the Islamic Republic of Iran. Last year, the production of science in the Islamic Republic of Iran in the world was ranked sixteenth. Although we have a good role in the research front in the world, we do not have the culture of recording our research.

He added: "In using the science of production and turning it into technology and then wealth, we have a lot of differences with the amount of science and the ISI articles, which is not even published in the international community. There needs to be policy-making in order to take care of technology production and the necessary indicators in order for universities to move forward. At the moment, gaining wealth through technology and knowledgeable companies is important for the Islamic Republic of Iran."

He concluded: "Iran stood first in the world in terms of science growth in 2017 compared with the year before."
