Iran produces first electromechanically costumed mascot

Mortazavi said that puppet theaters require updating to attract the attention of the audience, explaining that the invention has linked the puppet theater to 12 kinds of sciences, arts and industries, IRNA reported.

She added that the technology will not only be helpful in cinema, TV, advertisement, tourism and entertainment, but also will contribute to promoting puppet theater and art by producing high-quality and low-price giant puppets.

One of the advantages of electromechanical puppet is that it attracts audience from all age groups, she noted.

Elaborating on the features of the invention, she said that all its components are made in Iran and its electromechanical features make its easier for puppet handlers to move the puppets.

The mammoth puppet will take part in the 16th International Puppet Festival with a performance of 'Blue Sky's Robots' which is written and directed by Amir-Hossein Shafei.

The gala opened on August 22 and will continue until August 28.
