Iran rankes first in the field of genetics

The head of the Iranian Genetic Association said that in the field of genetics Iran rankes first in the region and rankes 14th to 17th in the world.

Mahmood Tulahi, In an international conference said: “Genetics has a history of 50 years, and and is classified in six areas of plant genetics, human genetics, animal genetics, aquatic genetics, Genetic reserves and stem cells.”

He said that the science of genetics has created a huge revolution in health. In the said conference  international scholars were invited to exchange scientific knowledge with Iranian scientists in the field of genetics.

With the advent of genetic science in Iran, said Tulahi, "if we do not try to equip laboratory resources and research topics, we can't catch up with other researchers and countries in the field of genetic science."

The head of the Genetic Society of Iran, said that we have a good cooperation with the German Society for Genetics.

He added that the creation and development of mutual cooperation with the foreign researchers is one of the goals of the conference. Despite some limitations in the resources and laboratory units of genetic science, luckily, efforts have been initiated to develop the research in this science.
