Iran ranks first in producing scientific articles among Islamic states

Reza Malekzadeh added while touring Neshabur’s Kuhort Center for Studies on Aging that the position was achieved 10 years earlier than that envisaged under the Vision Plan.

Although Iran makes up only one percent of the world’s population, its science production raised to 1.8 percent in the current Iranian year from 0.07 percent in 1996, he said, noting that it ranks 17th in ISI.

The number of Iranian top scientists in medical sciences has reached from 180 to 550 in the past four years, Malekzadeh said.

Iran is the fourth in the world in terms of students studying in under and postgratuate studies, he said, adding that the number of research centers in Iran has increased from 479 in 2013 to the current 724.
