Iran Remains as Head of West Asia Crafts Division

The 18th General Assembly of World Crafts Council (WCC) kicked off on Saturday in the historical Iranian city of Isfahan, bringing together about 200 creative artisans, craftspeople and authorities from the member states. During the meeting, the elections of the 36th WCC Asia Pacific Region General Assembly was held where Iran’s Bahman Namvar Motlagh, Deputy of Handicrafts at Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHTO), was once again selected as the Vice President for the West Asia Sub-Region.
Representatives from Australia, Bangladesh, China, Denmark, Egypt, India, Italy, the UAE, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, Britain, Uruguay and several other countries, are participating in the four-day event.
"The holding of the WCC assembly in Iran is an advantage for the country and can attract the world’s attention toward the production of Iranian crafts,” Namvar Motlagh said.
Furthermore, Kuwait’s Ghada Hijjawi Qaddumi was also reelected as the President of WCC-Asia Pacific Region.
