Iran, Russia to boost library cooperation

During the meeting, Fedorov described areas of cooperation between the two countries as numerous and extensive and voiced RSL's readiness for deepening mutual cooperation.

Using modern methods including electronic instruments and information technology in library activities is one of the recent achievements of the RSL he said, proposing exchange of experience in the field.

Fedorov also proposed holding an exhibition of the library's precious works in Tehran.

Maleki, for his part, voiced his country's interest in expansion of library cooperation, saying that the agreements signed earlier will prepare suitable ground for further promoting ties.

Founded in 1862 as Moscow first general library, Russian State Library is considered one of biggest libraries in the world.

Over 33 million printed works such books, magazines and atlases are being maintained in RSL, major section of which are books in foreign languages.
