Iran, Russia sign cooperation deal on youth affairs

The document was inked by Iran's deputy minister of sports and youth for organizing youth affairs, Mohammad Reza Rostami and Head of Russian Federation's Federal Agency for Youth Affairs Sergey Pospelov on the sidelines of the International Meeting on Russian Youth on Wednesday, according to IRNA.

Prior to signing of the document, a film was screened for the participants of the meeting about latest scientific and sports achievements of the Iranian youth.

In addition to the main participants of the gathering, a number of youth from 40 countries were also present in the meeting.

Based on the Iran-Russia MoU, the two sides agreed to launch extensive cooperation in the fields of education, holding workshops and refreshing courses to help promote cultural and social status of the Iranian and Russian youth (aged over 15 years).

The Iranian delegation is currently in Russia at the invitation of the head of Russian Federation's Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. While in Russia, the Iranian officials are to hold talks with the Russian officials. Their visit will end on Monday (July 11).
