Iran, South Korean universities sign MoU for mutual cooperation

Both universities' representatives in a joint meeting held in Tarbiat Modares University underscored developing scientific and research cooperation in different fields like developing Persian language.

Head of scientific and international cooperation office of Tarbiat Modares University Naser Khaji said that decisions have been made regarding four specific areas of cooperation for the first year of signing memorandum of understanding.

Khaji added that Korean students have to pass 18 course credits to be accepted to enter Tarbiat Modares University.
The agreement has particularly focused on the two universities' cooperation for promotion of the Persian language and literature.

Based on the document, the South Korean party is to present its Persian language syllabus for bachelor's degree to the Iranian side (Tarbiat Modares University) by September 1st and receive its program as well as necessary information on the tuition, accommodation, food and other fees which should be paid by each Korean student who is to study Persian language and literature in the Iranian university.

He added that the course is to open in the first week of the Iranian calendar month of Bahman (January 20-February 18).

Khaji said that the Iranian and South Korean universities are also planning to publish a joint scientific publication.

Noting that Iran and South Korea are to hold a joint conference on scientific and cultural cooperation, the official said that the conference is to be held in the next Iranian calendar year (to begin on March 21, 2017) in Seoul.

The two sides also agreed to exchange academic delegations and hold training courses in Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Khaji said.
