Iran to stage books at India’s Book Fair 2016

The public relations office of Iran Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI) announced that Iran would participate in the 24th edition of India’s World Book Fair.

WBF 2016 Expo (World Book Fair) is a 9-day event to be held from 9 to 17 January 2016 at Pragati Maidan of Indian capital city of New Delhi.

Since 2013, the book expo has been held annually while it was formerly a biannual congregation and according to organizers of the event, the ITPO (India Trade Promotion Organization), in comparison with number of exhibitors in 2015, this year is expected to host a higher number.     

With a lot of sideline seminars and introductions, China is the guest of honor in this edition of the expo.

There are also participants from Spain, Pakistan, the UAE, France, Germany, Nepal, Singapore, the USA, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Poland in the exhibition.

It is the fifth time that the ICFI attends at the WBF Expo and this year the institute is going to showcase 240 titles of Farsi books published in Iran in areas like Iranology, Persian literature, and art in its 18 square meter pavilion.

Tehran International Book Fair will also be promoted by the Iranian exhibitor to invite those international publishers who have not attended TIBF to Iran.

Iran’s Leader’s 'Letter4U' addressed to western youths will also be among the issues to be covered along with Iran’s printing and publishing industry, the role of Persian literature in binding many generations of Iranians and Indians, and lectures by professors from Persian Literature Departments of New Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University.
