In a meeting between Iran's cultural attaché Masoud Ahmadvand in Tajikistan and head of Central Library Abdul Ghaffar Mollayev in Khojand on Saturday, the two sides stressed the need to promote bilateral cooperation especially in the area of libraries.
The Iranian official referred to maintenance skills, copying of manuscripts, codicology and data banks as potential areas of cooperation between the two countries.
He also offered holding of workshops and training courses for Tajik library experts by Iran.
The Tajik official welcomed cooperation between libraries and expressed the interest of the his staff in visiting major Iranian libraries.
