Iran trounces US in RoboCup 2016

In the first half of the match held in the German city of Leipzig on Thursday, Iranian MRL (Mechatronics Research Laboratories) team from Qazvin Islamic Azad University managed to defeat its American rivals 9-0 in a completely offensive game.

During the half-time, the RoboBulls from the University of Florida attempted to fix their flaws in order to compensate for their heavy loss in the first half, but Iranian researchers launched into the second half with the same aggressiveness and scored their tenth goal within the first few seconds.

The MRL team changed tactics in the next round in order to prepare themselves for the next games.

The Iranian team thus sealed the match against the American team 10-0 and was qualified for the next round of games.

MRL also defeated Japan's KIKS 1-0 on Thursday, while Parsian from Amirkabir University sealed victory against Brazil's RoboFEI 6-0.

MRL team has proven itself as one of the best robotic team in national and international competitions and has earned many awards in international competitions.

RoboCup 2016 kicked off in Leipzig, Germany, on June 30 and will run until July 3. 3,500 participants with their 1,200 robots have until Sunday to compete for the world championship title.
