Iran, Vietnam keen on scientific cooperation

During the meeting, Mirzadeh presented a report on the activities of Islamic Azad University.

Islamic Azad University is seeking to promote international cooperation and setting up branches in foreign states, he said, voicing the academic institute's readiness for scientific cooperation with Vietnamese universities.

Scientific cooperation will pave the way for bilateral cooperation between the two countries, Mirzadeh said.

Vietnamese minister, Pham Vu Luan, for his part, hailed Islamic Azad University's achievements, saying that this is a miraculous achievement that the university has turned into the biggest university in the world with 400 branches within 30 years.

Admiring Iran's historic and cultural background, he said, 'We have historic commonalities and we both have engaged in war and share the experience of fighting global arrogance.'

The minister also said that he was impressed by Iran's progress, noting that the Vietnamese TV broadcasts news on the country's achievements everyday.

Luan further pointed out that given the potentials available, educational cooperation can be increased to a great extent.

For Vietnam, Iran is the first priority in the Middle East for educational collaboration and academic and cultural cooperation can pave the way for cooperation in other fields, he said.
