Iranian Academics Renew Allegiance with Imam Khomeini (RA) Ideals

University scholars, chancellors of universities and higher education centers, directors of the Iranian Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR) and officials from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology visited the mausoleum on Tuesday.

They laid a wreath on the tomb of the late Imam and recited prayers during the visit.

Every year, ahead the anniversary of Imam Khomeini’s demise, Iranian officials and figures visit the mausoleum to renew allegiance with the ideals of the late leader of the Islamic Revolution.

Also, large crowds of Iranians travel to Tehran from different parts of the country to pay tribute to Imam Khomeini at his shrine.

Ayatollah Ruhollah Moussavi Khomeini, better known as Imam Khomeini, engineered Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, which led to the overthrow of the US-backed Shah of Iran.

Imam Khomeini passed away on June 3, 1989, at the age of 87.
