They won 25-12 and 25-8 respectively the first and second sets. This victory caused the team to play as the first team of Group D with Brazil as the second team of Group B in the 16th final round.
It is worth mentioning that the Iranian students' team had triumphed over Armenian and German teams with similar results of 2-0 before.
