Iranian architects bag UNESCO prize

The international referees had chosen 24 out of 70 designs sent to the UNESCO secretariat, according to a Saturday report.

The two Iranian designs that received the awards were Bamland trade center, by Morteza Adib and Maryam Yusefi; and Rayzan cultural center, by Manli Anfshang and Mahfam Kooshesh.

More than 10,000 architects, from Africa, Europe and western Asia, had sent their designs to the secretariat of the contest.

The UNESCO architecture competitions take place every year in two parts: exterior and interior design. In 2018, Algiers hosted the award ceremony.
