Iranian calligraphy art exhibition opens in Ankara

“Spirituality and innovation are outstanding features of the art of calligraphy clearly demonstrated in the works of art displayed in this exhibition,” said Reza Azizian, Deputy Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic Embassy in Turkey.

“The continuance of human life will be toilsome and difficult without taking the role of art in life into account,” Azizian said.

“The art of calligraphy dates back to Sassanid Empire and Iranian artists have evolved the visual effects of the art by illuminating Quranic verses and texts of letters,” he said referring to the history of art of illuminating manuscript.

The exhibition is underway for ten days in Ankara Castle Historical Complex, Turkey open to the public from 10 AM to 8 PM.
