Akram Haddadi, managing director of the company, explained that the use of nitrogenous fertilizers causes environmental damage, soil and water pollution and serious diseases such as cancers, Iran Daily reported.
'The product reduces consumption of nitrogenous and phosphorus fertilizers by 50 to 80 percent and increases crop yield by 10 to 40 per unit area,' she said.
She noted that the biological fertilizer boosts the supply of micronutrients to plants such as iron, zinc and manganese.
Haddadi further said the bacteria used in the composition of fertilizer have the ability to produce growth hormones.
'Two to three kilograms of biological fertilizer are used per hectare, while 100 to 300 kilograms of chemical fertilizers are needed per hectare,' she added.
Haddadi said the biofertilizer also has the ability to decompose the phosphate residues of pesticides and reduce phosphorus pollution.
