Iran's Largest Museum to Open Near Hafez Tomb

Bahman Namvar Motlaq who was attending the poet’s commemoration on Monday said that today the world needs Hafez and the civilization heritage of the Iranians.
"These days we need the mystical passion of Hafez more than anything else, as we need the thoughts of noted poet Saadi and divine wisdom.” he added.
The official also said that no translation will be able to convey the eloquence of Hafez poetry and added: "while Goethe was celebrated in German-speaking countries and Pushkin was famous in Russian speaking nations, Hafez is famous in the world due to the depth of human concepts.”
Talking about the expansion of H?fezieh (Tomb of Hafez) complex, he said: "The largest museum of Iran is supposed to be found near the tomb and its first phase will launch next Iranian year.”
October 12 is known as Hafez Day in the Iranian calendar; a day on which hundreds of his lovers and scholars gather at his mausoleum to pay tribute to him. Conferences and other programs are also held nationally and internationally.
A commemoration was held last night in Shiraz with the attendance of Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati and other officials.
