Iran's manuscript 'Jameotavarikh' to go on display at Golestan museum

'Jameotavarikh' is the tenth Iranian work to be registered in this list. Other books on the list are 'Khamseh' composed by Nezami Ganjavi (c. 1141-1209 CE), 'At-Tafhim' written by Abu Rayhan Biruni (973-1048 CE), 'Masalek Al Mamalek' and 'Baysonghor Shahnameh' (Prince Bayasanghor's Book of the Kings), ISNA reported.

'Baysonghor Shahnameh' and 'Khamseh' (Quintet) by Nezami are also to be unveiled on the same day.

Masoud Nosrati, director of the museum's world heritage site said that 'Jameotavarikh' has a history of 435 years and is considered as one of the best masterpieces in the fields of history and geography.

Nosrati said that one of the important aspect of the masterpiece is that it is highly dependent on oral resources.

Fine writing style in narrating historical details as well as its simple and clear prose made the masterpiece a valid source in history.

Director General of Historical Records Office in Iran National Library and Archives (INLA) Farhad Nazari said that the historical book of 'Jameotavarikh' has several versions each of which are maintained in other libraries worldwide, adding that the registered one is kept at Tehran's Golestan Palace Museum.
