Speaking to IRNA, Linh commented on a memorandum of understanding, signed by IRNA and VNA, and said the agreement plays an important role in Iran-Vietnam relations, especially in news and information sharing and expansion of friendship, solidarity and cultures of the two sides.
He said the agreement marks an important chapter between IRNA and VNA and said both news agencies play a strategic role in any of the two countries.
'Since Iran and Vietnam hold long-term friendly relations, IRNA and VNA, as a bridge between Iran and Vietnam and their nations, can be influential in making two nations more familiar with each other. The two news agencies enjoy important positions in forging international and regional support and cooperation.'
As two countries located in East Asia and the Middle East share minor cultural commonalties but long history of relationship helps them reach common understanding, he added.
He hoped for exchange of professional and news teams by the two countries in the near future.
