Islamic Republic’s might rooted in culture: MP

While Marxist ideology stands upon economy, the ideology of the Islamic Republic of Iran is established upon cultural bases, said Gholamali Haddad Adel, one of the MPs representing Tehran constituency in Iranian Parliament.

The official made the remark during his speech addressing the Conference on Consolidation of Internal Construct of National Strength at Iran’s Supreme National Defense University on Monday in Tehran.

The head of Principlists’ Fraction of MPs in Parliament recounted that out of the two approaches toward the source of power, in which the first holds the power comes from materialistic resources, and the second sees it rooted in spiritual resources, the religious establishment in Iran favors the latter.

The Islamic Republic of Iran relies on spirituality, faith, and culture while the world of today cherishes the fist approach, highlighted the MP.

Further, he added that ‘emphasis upon spirituality does not obviate the need to worldly necessities’ and clarified that the Islamic ideology does not ignore the material world.

The MP from Tehran constituency stressed that respect to individuals and their humanity along with justice are the assets and values of the Islamic Revolution which were even reemphasized by the late Imam Khomeini.
