Islamic Studies Conference to Be Held at London University

The conference is co- hosted by the Human Rights Consortium and the Institute for Commonwealth Studies, University of London.
Following BRAIS’s inaugural conference in Edinburgh in April 2014, the organizers are now organizing the second annual conference.
In this conference, Islamic studies are broadly considered, to include all aspects of the study of Islam and Muslims, past and present, in both Muslim-majority and Muslim-minority contexts.
There will be delegates from across the UK, and elsewhere, representing a broad range of backgrounds and sub-disciplines within Islamic Studies.
The three-day program features a total of 48 panels on various themes and includes 5 plenaries and an event open to the public. Representing journals, bulletins and books related to the field of Islamic Studies, there will be 8 publisher stands throughout the conference.
Pre-arranged panels are particularly welcome on themes within the subject, such as: Quranic Studies, Law, History - Medieval and Modern, Philosophy and Theology, Intellectual History, Spirituality, History of Art, History of Science, Diversity within Islam, Economics and Finance, Education, Gender Studies, Islam in the Media, Human Rights, Interreligious Relations, Muslims in Britain/Europe/the West and Islam in Asia and Africa.
