Islamic Values the Root Goal of Fundamental Reform of Education

According to OERP Public and International Relations, Dr. Alireza Assareh, Head of the Institute for Educational Studies and Research, speaking in the committee number seven of the 32nd Forum of Heads of Education Departments, explained the goals of the Charter of Education Fundamental Reform and the National Curriculum and said, "content of school students' textbooks used to be compiled from foreign sources that did not usually have agreement with the Islamic values and culture and even sometimes contradicted them. In fact, we intend to shift a system not based on the Islamic values back to them."

Noting establishment of the new system of primary and secondary education, he said, "the upper secondary education is the hardest level because at this level we face a variety of disciplines and subject. In this regard we have three crucial tasks, namely to have managers to know the National Curriculum carefully; to train principals and teachers; and to recruit appropriate human resources for each level."
