Italy presence in TIBF, turning point in cultural ties: envoy

Talking to IRNA on the sidelines of the 28th Tehran International Book Fair, he highlighted his country's presence in the ongoing cultural event.

The move will open a new chapter in bilateral ties and provide opportunity for both sides to launch joint cultural projects, the envoy said.

The Italian diplomat further noted that there is greater incentive to boost cultural ties in view of their common cultural viewpoints, he said.

'Both nations boast of rich civilization and cultural activists in both countries are working with great interest,' Conciatori said.

TIBF opened on May 6 in a ceremony attended by President Hassan Rouhani and Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Ali Jannati as well as the MPs and cultural officials.

The great cultural event features over 300,000 titles of Iranian book and 165,000 foreign publications. Some 65 countries are participating in the international section of the exhibition.
