Japan launches 'cultural room' in Iranian capital

“With the hope of increasing fans of Japan in Iran,” the room has been opened in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Iran, Japan Today wrote.

The 40-square-meter room is filled with items of both traditional and pop culture of the Asian country, it said.

Also, the walls of “Japan Room” have been decorated with photos showing the country’s landscapes.

'In addition to economic ties, Japan has a long association with Iran in the field of culture,' Japan's Ambassador to Iran, Mitsugu Saito was quoted as saying by Japan Today at a ceremony held at the country's embassy to mark the 90th anniversary on the eve of its opening in Tehran.
'We'd like to introduce not only Japan's traditional aspects but also its pop culture,” Saito was further quoted as saying.
In related development, Iran’s Ambassador to Japan Morteza Rahmani-Movahed said the two countries enjoy considerable capacities for fostering cooperation in scientific, cultural, economic and political issues.
Meantime, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif expressed congratulations over the 90th anniversary of establishment of bilateral relations, saying Iran is ready to make use of existing capacities to grow Tehran-Tokyo relations.
