The Leader: JCPOA showed US animosity towards Iran not ended

the Leader made the remarks while receiving a large number of university students and academics on the 26th day of the fasting month of Ramadan.

Touching upon the bad performance of Paris and Washington in implementation nuclear deal usually callded as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the the  Leader underscored the Islamic Republic of Iran in not interested in US presence in the Middle East and its meddling in the regional affairs.

Pointing to the US eagerness for collaborating with Iran in regional issues, especially the Syria crisis, Ayatollah Khamenei stressed, 'We do not want such collaboration, because the Americans want to stop the Iranian presence in the region.'

'Those who believe we should become close to Western countries for the sake of the country's progress have lost their minds,' Ayatollah Khamenei added.

the Leader underscored that the Iranian nation have very bad experiences from western countries including imposing the Pahlavi dictatorship, overthrowing the national government and establishing the Pahlavi intelligence agency, SAVAK.

'We must learn from the past experience,' he said.

Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that after the triumph of Islamic Revolution, the Western countries and US imposed sanctions against the country, completely supported the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein during the eight-year war against Iran, supported the counter-revolutionary groups, shot down an Iranian passenger plane and sabotaged the process of JCPOA.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader urged students of the Islamic world to form a united front of Muslim students against US and Israel.

 

“In order to protest against US and the Zionist regime’s policies, it is possible to form different student campaigns through modern means of communications presently available on cyber space, to create a huge movement by student gatherings throughout the Islamic world,” said the Leader.
