INSF announced in a recent statement that it provides support to universities and research institutes, which wish to invite a distinguished scientist or researcher from overseas to enhance the quality of education and expand their existing educational programs.
'The grant will be awarded to faculty members and researchers who are willing to have part-time participation in educational and research activities of a certain Iranian academic institute,' said the statement.

Eligibility:
A formal request from an Iranian university or research institute
Taking necessary legal steps and approvals by the host organization
Having a scientific background relevant to the scientific needs of the host organization
The candidate has to be a prominent professor in his own field of study and a well-known scholar in scientific communities.
Activities of a visiting professor:
Supervising and advising thesis and dissertation at graduate level
Publishing scientific research papers in credible journals
Conducting research activities
Teaching courses at graduate level
Cooperating with research institutes in providing scientific and strategic advice on required topics
Regulations for selecting a visiting professor:
Iranian universities and research centers which intend to invite a professor have to send their official request along with the CV of the intended visiting professor.
The visiting professors should be selected for working on a specific area, field and level of studies. Presidents and directors of the applying universities and institutes are responsible for identifying their educational needs, and the responsibilities of the intended visiting professor.
The maximum duration of a contract will be one Iranian academic term (18 weeks).
The bilateral research projects between the visiting professor and his/her host university must be designed in a way that even after the termination of contract the collaborations continues.
Visiting professors have to collaborate with their host universities in all necessary educational activities.
The nature of collaborations depends on the expertise of the visiting professor.
Any party who opts for early termination of the contract has to notify the other party by one month’s notice in writing.
