Louvre world masterpieces to be exhibited in Iran

The president of the Louvre Jean-Luc Martinez together with a delegation consisting of French cultural heritage experts entered Tehran on Saturday to develop cooperation and open a new chapter in cultural interactions between the museums of the two countries.

Kargar reiterated that talks are underway with Mexico to open an exhibition of Mana civilization in Iran and then the ground will be prepared to hold Louvre works exhibition.

He said that Iran has demanded that a complete collection of Egyptian culture and civilization kept in the Louve be exhibited in Iran.

Louvre President met with Head of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Masoud Soltanifar and is scheduled to visit Golestan Palace.

Jean-Luc Martinez will also visit Isfahan.

The Louvre or the Louvre Museum is one of the world's largest museums and a historic monument in Paris, France. Nearly 35,000 objects from prehistory to the 21st century are exhibited over an area of 60,600 square meters. The Louvre is the world's most visited museum, receiving more than 9.26 million visitors in 2014. It is also one of the largest.
