The Minister of Education Mohsen Haji Mirzaei issued a message on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day:
I commemorate the World Teachers’ Day and give my best regards to all teachers of my country particularly the ones who got martyred in the way of defending from the country and the religion.
The establishment of any social system cannot come to reality without the serious and comprehensive participation of teachers. The teachers’ teachings build the future of human societies.
Teaching and particularly being a teacher enjoys a respectable position within the framework of Islam and the teachings of Holy Quran. In Holy Quran, God starts its comprehensive book by inviting to reading and learning. The Prophet Muhammad defined himself as a teacher and Imam Ali also regarded himself as indebted to a person who teaches him something new.
Based on the Islamic tradition, the important role of teachers has always been highlighted In the Islamic Republic of Iran. The founder of Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini called teaching as the main mission of prophets and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei called schools and education system as the main basis for the creation of future world.
Haji Mirzaei has also noted to the important position which teachers enjoy within the framework of Fundamental Reform Document of Education (FRDE).
