According to the Ministry of Education's Public Affairs and Information Center, Fatemeh Mohajerani, head of the National Center for the Education of Talent and Young Scientists, in the closing ceremony of the 29th Global Olympiad on Biology, which was attended by elite biology students from 70 countries, announced that as the president has ordered, Iran as the cradle of civilization and friendship is ready to host the 2018 biology Olympiad.
She added: "We hosted guests respecting the laws of the Islamic Republic, and I am proud to cherish and welcome the guests and tell them that Iran is the guardian of peace and kindness.”
Parmida Sadat and Nikan Amirkhani won gold medal, Sarah Mohammadi won silver medal and Mehdi Masroor won the bronze medal at the International Olympiad in Biology.
It is worth mentioning that the 2018 World Biology Olympiad started in Tehran from July 15th, 2018 and 270 students from 70 countries participated in the Olympiad. Iran has joined the Biology Olympiad since 1999.
