Military, state institutions must rush to help quake-hit victims

In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

With a heavy heart and feeling deep sorrow, I received news of the earthquake in the west of the country, which led to the loss of lives of a number of beloved compatriots and left a greater number injured and inflicted extensive damage. It is the duty of the officials to rush to the aid of those affected, particularly those trapped under the rubble, in these early hours with utmost effort and by using all their resources to prevent further loss of lives. The Army, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps and Basij [volunteer forces] should help with operations to remove the debris and transfer the injured to hospital, and state apparatuses, whether military or civilian, must utilize all their resources to help those affected and their families. I wholeheartedly express my condolences to the Iranian nation, particularly the beloved people of Kermanshah Province and especially the devastated families, over this bitter and catastrophic incident, and humbly ask God Almighty to make this suffering and affliction grounds for the attraction of his mercy and grace and increase the patience, resilience and resistance of our beloved nation. I ask all of those who can, in any way, be effective in easing the burden of this calamity and making up for the damage to rush to the help of those affected.

Peace, mercy and blessing of God be upon you all
