Ministerial Symposium on Application of New Technologies

According to the Iranian National Commission for Unesco, the goals of holding the symposium are as follows:

• Drawing educational planners and policy makers' attention to the importance of effective application of mobile electronic tools in the educational system and learning
• Exchanging ideas and discussing policies and legal instruments regarding application of new technologies as well as their roles in realization of development goals and inter-sector and inter-institutional capacity building
• Managing utilization of technologies related to mobile electronic tools for promotion of educational opportunities and women and girls empowerment
• Providing educational institutions with necessary recommendations to address these technologies in learning environments

It is worth mentioning that mobile electronic learning tools prepare lifelong learning opportunities for all and facilitate accessing to learning data anywhere anytime. They are effective devices for developing learning societies too. Therefore Unesco first launched Mobile Learning Week from 12^th through 16^th December 2011 at its headquarters in Paris and the week has been held annually so far.

The Ministerial Symposium will be held jointly by Iranian National Commission for Unesco, Supreme Council of Education and Unesco Regional Office in Tehran in Adineh Cultural-Educational Center on 23^rd February 2015.
