The certificate of appreciation signed by vice-president and the head of department of environment reads: 'as a token of gratitude, for the extended efforts of ministry of education in promoting environmental values through integrating environmental contents into textbooks, hereby, the highest environment prize is awarded to the ministry of education'.
Measures taken by the ministry of education in this regard include setting up a focal point of environment and sustainable development within the organization, integrating related content in more than 30 primary and secondary textbooks, holding special events (such as clean air day, clean earth day, tree planting day, biodiversity day, etc.) among students, participating in preservation programs for Zagross region, Urmia Lake, etc., modifying the syllabus of teachers' education university accordingly, creating the new textbook of human being and environment and so on and so forth.
