“The congress aims at developing the culture of empathy to reinforce ties between Islamic faiths,” Director General of Culture Department of southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan Province Hossein Mesgarani told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
“1,021 works in Persian, Balochi, Turkish, Kurdish, Turkmen, Urdu, Pashto and Sistani dialect were sent to the secretariat of the congress,” he said.
“The congress consists of two sections of modern and classic poetry and the works were judged by 12 prominent referees,” he added.
“In addition to Iranian poets, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Republic of Azerbaijan also sent their works to the congress,” Mesgarani noted.
