Moscow int’l Quran competition slated for October 11

According to crocus-hall website, the competition will be held at the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsky District of Moscow Oblast.
The annual Quranic event is organized by Russia’s Muftis Council for Quran activists from different countries.
The participants compete in memorization and recitation of the Quran.
In 2010, the contest was included in the list of events organized under the aegis of UNESCO.
Islam is the second most widely professed religion in Russia.
It is considered as one of Russia’s traditional religions, legally a part of Russian historical heritage.
Moscow has 2 million Muslim residents and up to 2 million more Muslim migrant workers.
