National Curriculum is our Road Map to the Education Fundamental Transformation Charter

According to the OERP Public and International Relations, Deputy Minister of Education and Head of the OERP, Dr Mohammadian said in an interview, "there are 40 solutions and 99 activities in the Charter but the most important parts that by the way relate to the OERP are the National Curriculum, preparing the guides to the learning areas, levels of education, the evaluation system, research affairs, etc. We are dealing with these issues this year. Our newly compiled textbooks in the current academic year are those for grades four and eight to be piloted. Next academic year, these books will be evaluated and at the same time we will prepare the textbooks for the following grades namely grades five and nine."

To answer another question he said, "producing learning packages is among our executive policies that are based on the Charter and the National Curriculum. These instruments aim at producing new learning media, online or offline, magazines, guides, etc. in addition to textbooks. We have already started this and a large proportion of textbooks are supplied together with learning packages now. To choose the content we first conduct needs assessments, the results then lead to curriculum framework, the curriculum will be validated, modified, revalidated and released."

He also mentioned, "we expect the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution to supervise the education system. This supervision, of course involves experts familiar with the Islamic doctrine of education. Evaluations based on other doctrines cannot be accepted. In this way, we will be able to see whether the graduated youth from theoretical or technical/vocational schools are doing better than before or not."
