The scientific secretary of the fifth National Scholastic Festival of Ibn Sina said that the festival will be held online and will start on August 1st.
Stating that the festival will be held for a week from 11 to 17 August this year, Mehdi Rashidi Jahan added: “students from all over the country will present their achievements online; they can take the virtual exams of this festival themselves.”
“The office of Vice Presidency for Science and Technology and a number of scientific organizations and institutions have supported and contributed to this festival. With the help of Niroo Research institute the festival will be held online due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.”
Rashidi called the National Scholastic Festival of Ibn Sina as the largest national online event attended by more than 4,000 students, where more than 1,100 scientific projects are presented. “Scientific seminars in different fields, students’ business marathon, programming Marathon, digital content marathon, basic science Olympiads and short film and animation are among the themes of this festival.”
Noting that more than 700 schools and research institutes from 31 provinces have participated in the festival, the secretary of the fifth National Scholastic Festival of Ibn Sina said: “being held online, providing descriptive work (descriptive records of the researches) for the first time in country, the publication of the best articles in a special electronic journal of Ibn Sina Researchers Club and the providing a certificate for attending this conference are among the unique features of this festival.”
He noted that the winners of the previous festivals participated in international competitions and the students won 15 gold, 9 silver, 11 top medals and special awards from the Ministry of Science of different countries, adding that this year winners will also attend international competitions, some of them will be online.
