A new season in educational relation of Iran and Russia

 Sayyed Mohammad Bathayi, on the first day of his trip to Moscow in a meeting with the Minister of Education and Science of Russia Olga Vasilova, said that Iran-Russia relations are one of the oldest relations between the two countries in international arena, and in recent years, the volume of these relations is increasing in the political and economic arenas.

He welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on educational cooperation between the two countries in order to exchange effective educational communications and called for the exchange of experiences and cooperation in the field of training of teachers and the holding of scientific Olympiads between the two countries.

Minister of Education, declared the Ministry's willingness to include Russian Language as a second language in some schools in Iran, seeking to break the English language monopoly as a second language school.

Olga Vasilova, while welcoming the proposals, said that the Ministry of Education has a lot of experiences in teaching Russian language and expressed readiness to help the Islamic Republic in this regard.

He referred to the history of good relations between the two countries, as well as the sharing of the positions of the two countries in the issues of the unilateral region and the world relationship, and expressed their satisfaction with increasing the connection with the universities of Iran.

According to Vasilova, there are currently 795 Iranian students studying at Russian universities, and in 2017, 101 scholarships for Russian universities were given to Iranian students, and for the year 2019-20, he said that there will be 90 scholarships for the Iranian students.

At the end of the meeting, it was decided that the Ministries of Education of the two countries will provide for the implementation of agreements between the two countries.
