Dr. Mohyeddin Bahram Mohammadian, Head of the OERP speaking in the opening ceremony of the 2nd Int'l Geosciences Congress held in Tehran emphasized the importance of geosciences and said, 'the main source of income of the country is from petroleum, gas and minerals that are all obtained from the earth', reported by ISNA.
He pointed out that geosciences have been integrated into different primary and secondary textbooks. He also announced that at the secondary level, a general subject will be added and a textbook of Man and the Environment is being compiled for this purpose.
