OERP Sets Technical and Vocational Education Standards

In an interview with Tasnim News Agency, Hojjatoleslam Mohammadian said, "last year, Bureau of Compiling Primary and Theoretical Secondary Textbooks completed 20 newly compiled textbooks for grades four and eight together with appropriate learning packages" reported by the OERP Public and International Relations.

He added," 58 titles of textbooks were compiled for technical and vocational education courses along with appropriate standards while in the field of printing, approximately 124 million volumes were published and distributed this year".

The Head of the OERP said, "in addition to holding Roshd International Educational Film Festival, we held Roshd Book Festival and Roshd Photo Festival and above all, we published Roshd Rowshan Magazine for blind students in Braille."

He added, "serious steps have been taken in the field of training teachers despite of shortage of manpower. Of course, this shortage was made up for by good planning of BCPTST."

He further added, "considering the National Curriculum, Bureau of Compiling Technical and Vocational Textbooks should pay especial attention to the general policies and the scientific road map of the country. Some of the standards of technical and vocational education have already been set. In case our technical and vocational education can reach the required standard, obviously it can be more effective. Therefore we emphasize on precise planning in this field."
